Subject: Good show and sound

This was a great show to be at, and I think it translates just as well to CD too. The sound quality is good for an AUD (I prefer the sound of this source to the other 4011's source on the Achive) and the band plays with a lot of energy -- especially the long and rockin' encore! I've listened to all 3 shows from the January run at the 40, and I like this one the best.

As for the debate between studio vs. live, I agree that the Truckers' studio albums are great -- the production is absolutely outstanding and since they're not really a true jam band (i.e., no 15 minute solos), they also don't suffer as much from studio constraints as some bands do. Live discs, particularly AUDs, are just a different animal. If you prefer crisp SBDs or studio versions, look elsewhere for your next download. If you like rough-edged, hard driving rock & roll that sounds like you're standing in the bar hearing it over the PA, then check this one out!

Subject: Great Show

I have to disagree my friend. DBT is awesome to listen too live, check out some of the matrix or soundboard shows. Studio albums in general suck. I love me some live DBT, whether im there or listen to it on my porch with a 6 pack of beer. The recording of this show is good for an audience taping. With the live stuff, the stories are better and different everytime they play. But at leaast we agree on one thing, DBT fuckin rocks.

I love the D-B Truckers, but to me they are one of those bands whose studio albums sound much better than their live shows. Their shows are awesome if you're actually there, but their greatness doesn't come across on recordings.
